Erie Victorian (era) Houses

*editors note: This House Sold*

This beautiful Italianate is for sale for the list price of $64,900. It sold for $125,000 in 2004. It has 10 bedrooms. They were converting the house back into a single-family home from a duplex. I don’t know what happened. Taxes are $3939. Too much work, too much money? It would be a shame if this gets divided up again. It is located near the Erie Cemetery. Its on a block with other gorgeous old houses that have been restored. Check out the ad here. I hope it goes to a good home. (no longer a valid link because the house sold.)

We took a walk this evening after getting back from Pymatuning State Park. I took some pictures of the wonderful houses on a 2-block area near the cemetery. I would have taken more but I don’t like taking pictures of people’s houses when they are out on their porches or in their yards. I’ll take more soon.

Is this house still for sale?

What did it sell for if it did?

The link is dead and I don’t see it listed on their site.

Your posts aren’t dated so I don’t know when you saw this.

    Great site.

Erie’s got lots of great old homes worth saving.

I believe it sold in April. I can’t remember what street it was on but I walk in that area alot and will pay attention next time. I can look the sale up on the Erie county Tax site. Keep checking back and I’ll hopefully have an answer for you. I’m curious what it sold for, too.

Wow, someone took a hit on that one! Someone really lost 60+K?

    Was it a foreclosure?

If you happen to stroll by it sometime, I’d be interested to hear what kind of shape the exterior’s in.

They don’t build ‘em like that anymore.

    Beautiful!

    Thanks for the links.

I added more pictures that I took today on a walk in the neighborhood. I’ll be posting pictures of other houses on the block in my blog. The house on the outside has some rot up in some of the gutter areas. The paint has already been stripped on part of the widows watch. The inside was being turned back from a duplex into a single family home. It does look like someone did take a big hit on the sale price. Also I looked up the seller. It was a bank and it was sold under a what it says is a “Special Warranty Deed.” I don’t know what that means but I have a hunch it was a foreclosure through the bank. It is a beautiful house set among other beautiful houses. Nice neighborhood to walk, 3 blocks from St. Vincent Hospital. It was Erie’s 2nd Millionaires Row. There were 3 workers on the porch when we were walking by so I didn’t take as many pictures as I would have liked. I home it isn’t done just to flip it.
