My Patio Watering Drip System Arrived

June 4th, 2007 · 2 Comments

When I went out to water the hanging plants, my eyes immediately were drawn to the package at the foot of the door. It’s here! I grabbed it and headed into the house full of joy (yes, be happy for the little things in life.)

I slit open the box with a knife and I marveled at all the parts. Then I sighed. Now the hard part. I have to read the directions and figure out how to put it all together. Then I noticed the box only contained one patio-watering kit and the extra parts I also ordered. The packing order said there were two. Nope, only one. I checked my order email and it said I ordered two, they charged me for two and that they were being delivered complete in one package. Well, darn it anyway!

I called the company and said I only got one in the box. Really? was her reply. I told them the box was too small to even contain two kits. They’d send out another one. Now I’m waiting for the second one to arrive.

In the mean time, I’m going to be working on figuring out the first one, hopefully today. Normally, though, I’m always happy with my mail-order items. I’m really happy with these guys, too, for the speed of processing my order. Missing a major part of my order, not good, but other than that………

I think I’m going to have to set up a similar system, especially before my next visit to Dad’s. Is it expensive?

I had to mail order it but I know they sell the patio kits in California. The one I got has a battery timer that it says the battery will last a year before changing it. You can set it to water everyday for how long you want it to run. It will turn on everyday. Or you can set it to turn on once every 3 days or once a week, etc. With potted plants outside, they need to be watered almost every day in the heat. My kit was $59 each and it included a piece to prevent backflows, a pressure regulator, the tubing (60ft) Ts, 2 misters, drippers, a couple of inline flow controls and the battery operated timer. You just need to have a hose hooked to it and turned on at all times for it to work.
